AFI's Top 10 Westerns

For all of you tired of the on-the-mark/off-the-mark lists that the American Film Institute puts out, maybe the brevity of this one will catch your attention: AFI's Top 10 Westerns.

In a list of such a clearly defined genre, it's interesting that AFI chooses to praise films that are emblematic of the genre (#9 Stagecoach) and those that beg to ruffle its feathers (#6 The Wild Bunch). The Top 4 seem pretty obvious with their order saying more about the person making the list.

Very interesting. I probably would have went with HIGH NOON, but that's just me.
