Redundancy and batteries
Not to get too much into specifics, but I had a little interview Thursday which went great I thought. Afterward, I discovered that there had been no levels on the lav mic. Apparently, the battery in the mic died between the mic check and the interview. (Make note - not only have plenty of batteries on hand, but ALWAYS change them out like blank tapes).
The only saving grace is that I always try to have a redundancy plan in place with two mics going. So, while the lav went out, the boom worked. Unfortunately, the boom picked up the A/C kicking on.
Cest la vie. Next.
